Not recipes, but....

I've been making sock monkeys for a few months now...

It started when I got a sewing machine, then I decided I was going to try to make something after I'd had the thing for well over a year.

I made a sock monkey for my manager (he loves monkeys)

He and his wife found that they were expecting a little girl she asked me to make them a little monkey.

I couldn't find any red-heel socks anywhere.  I know they come in pinks and blues, too.  These socks I found turned out just fine.

For Tillie

For Jaxon

They take quite sometime to make..  Usually about 3 - 4 hours.  I was asked by a co-worker to make one for his daughter's birthday coming up on the 14th.  He asked me to make it "extra special" but I wasn't really sure how to do that.  I found a cute iron on design and started to put it on the sock...  I couldn't figure out why it wasn't sticking to the material.

Duh, Beth.  You need to peel the plastic off the backside.  Oy.

Now how do I get it to stick to the sticky tape side to iron on?  Butter knife and tweezers.  I should have read the directions the whole way through before starting...  What a pain!  HA :)

The ears, arms and tail are sewed on by hand.  I was never a very skilled seamstress :P

Here she is finished:
